* Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory- C8 M* ? Q9 D# B' [
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr; Q0 P' O8 C! {; w. L; m3 y
* Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps$ |8 V) S' O- y! n" |# d; l0 {
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations
) e2 S, |; D& W+ E5 H6 i1 x! h * Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations1 k% |5 o" M L+ `! q: K. K+ S+ G6 S
1 j3 M/ s5 N4 WQualifications

* Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred, ]" ?2 o7 E: d" K0 c) L
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation" |- t7 L `- N- q4 Y8 h: Q5 W' v
* Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers

* Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset# h! _+ |) y! ~2 G! P
