Duties, G6 w' D" G. W' A% c6 W
% w) d/ x1 P' V+ n: R! B * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
1 P: s- ]0 s' z& h5 }* I; q2 e * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
( [0 f4 |- k* D8 F * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
, Y, G) n5 p" W7 l; z * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations
! l: Y3 R6 h# t& A * Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations1 @) R. B% {; M- z/ R' a' [# M

Qualifications
) v& V; E E8 y
8 }0 K: `" M9 A! W7 H * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred9 p5 d6 \) [6 x9 d
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation6 X3 Z' Z- M' r+ C6 r
* Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers

6 m) {) p8 v2 w% { * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset( Z$ u& q6 C9 J" w
