Duties
( y6 t' _8 d& o
. a: f6 U/ L& }3 U) P' T3 w * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
& ~: _& e' U' q% o6 e2 Z * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr- h7 a% C0 d$ D
* Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps/ [* y7 g4 U2 ?1 N4 H
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations

* Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred2 `: j8 [* l: D) k9 x w
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation3 h7 ~* b# o7 Z" a1 Z/ `" |. \
* Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers/ b. j/ O" {( z) p
* WHMIS training
& l: X V* l8 C; G+ K$ g$ [ * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset' _% r4 _: N$ r; c/ U9 r! A* ]
