/ a" @* C* s0 L' kIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
% o" ]+ T- c" N. ?- Fskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
" E  L. D+ g; eprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
' l' s& I! d5 I( Sexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

. H4 K" N  @+ e! L5 }Candidate Profile:

5 S& S( J: d6 T4 d* ~Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
7 a5 V. `) g8 P2 M+ W( J*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
. J- k; Z4 f" u4 y*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
8 P1 d/ L! Z& yoccupation
' }: {% i; }, N/ B! P*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

! E* j. M4 Z5 d5 ~; z                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
! p. ]2 ^+ B# @- c8 Z; y# S        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
: d' u$ C$ h3 @* g6 VInternet, etc.)
: N) c- t- V! w1 k0 k/ r% o        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
7 Y5 ?/ V% e* ?        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

Class Schedule and Location:

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006
