Program Overview:

Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
/ L5 ^. o  Y# f2 V6 q( tprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
2 J+ F- Y2 S0 [! D. Z) Kwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
% T; J, \9 [$ g9 A, I, bservices and others.
) _, k/ p3 t' X8 d6 p! S
Candidate Profile:
- Z% C0 r, l. ~6 X. z
9 h4 g) B6 \' O# v7 w1 b) C7 lCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
1 S9 C& R3 H9 N/ a*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
) j/ r9 R% F! l0 Vsecondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
. J9 f3 r2 i) j! b*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
- {5 D0 X" k% O*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
  Y: x1 f+ V' I*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
$ D; P( w% B% U0 F0 M/ @' Nhigh-demand occupations
8 o8 r! \0 p, e6 [# [. G        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
- s$ O3 e2 T+ E7 t7 z/ `2 ~' }Internet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
* P+ V; ~; ^* H6 G$ _) }        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
2 ~; P# @9 k( m* W! @( K        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

        *        Monday to Friday

Finance.
