Program Overview:

Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
- R( t6 J( c, D, s5 S  uskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
0 ?+ K5 V' r" ~4 i4 G# C% Uexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
2 B  R6 f$ k9 t- Zwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

) u! ]* B! q) ?; m/ H9 w9 F3 wCandidate Profile:

Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
1 H* A' |! c' f0 d6 O*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
' Y. [' x6 ^" x*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
6 y! r) j) V% h. U0 h* ooccupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
7 f9 h% \" h: \9 l*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

% f" X6 J! t2 |1 p                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
" l" H) g5 k- x* ~5 Afield trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
- g3 }5 ^. k. Xhigh-demand occupations
& H/ Y* Z" _8 X+ u0 E0 G3 x        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
( c; G7 S" ~1 r5 o        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
$ ~5 ~8 n) t( O: q        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling

        *        Monday to Friday

        *        All classes are held at The Path to Employment, 10211 - 97
