Program Overview:

' d- S3 q2 Y% x, ]! S/ iIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
2 G  ?* G  |5 X6 k) Zprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

1 o( e+ A  F- d6 _; e9 h6 N6 |9 ]
) n+ ^4 K- G8 X& U/ k5 SCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
+ `. k7 J1 J' y& }" b  ?*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
0 j1 }0 G/ }7 s+ L8 C7 J*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
% H1 W: {2 g% X4 x2 \* Y% Qsecondary education
6 M0 A: s  N5 N! Z4 Y*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
9 Z3 E# L2 ?, soccupation

*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job

Program Description:

) i: a/ _5 C% N% y' C$ f6 n8 Q" U' Ufield trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
5 p, x- i5 I2 S) [& C. n- V        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling

Funding:

Students may be eligible for tuition and living expenses from Student
