Program Overview:
- _: X. f' G. \5 P
* n) V. |1 h1 Y- {Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
6 Q6 K3 v/ p6 k+ \) a5 ~4 K# Pexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

( K; U8 X; l) f% N) Y" e8 B1 d
* x7 B+ i5 X" ^7 N: f4 HCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
! K& D, @! O5 A+ _citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
6 \: K' Y- ?" {, x; x. \! c*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
/ `4 c& ]3 c3 O! s" Q*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
; p2 {+ H+ N5 N& y  j*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
  `3 p. G2 c: foccupation
& F+ Y, Y  u" y2 [& m3 ?*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
  W& ^2 \( D5 \! L3 v& vfield trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
1 P' U! H; M! V3 A! ehigh-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
  p( {: u; j9 J* L& |, R2 n        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
) U3 I7 t4 H5 K' ^+ f. w: Y! m        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
3 R6 X% k( o* y2 f4 R$ g        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

        *        Monday to Friday
        *        9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (tentative)
        *        All classes are held at The Path to Employment, 10211 - 97
