Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:# O, D% ~+ ?. G4 B' s7 w
Activity Planning and Daily Activity ?4 m7 n5 X, Z% _
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership., r: z5 g1 w; f0 u, z+ g/ R7 _6 y
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
5 a/ N0 o' Z+ J• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
- M) E8 n" B$ M: H# t, F0 X2 s4 u9 p• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants. c! J7 z6 P3 j% W3 _
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.0 F- R# m$ w" Z0 u: ?- D* S! R
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting3 g( B+ s$ r9 g1 h0 i( a
• Experience with children/ E2 U) z7 M! i
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 2 q' }- H8 s. _: Q4 [. |
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.8 E6 \4 Q/ S4 V8 i3 D/ g% z
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.8 u& E3 s- i! Q( E) d3 x A5 d
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources- x# L: |1 h1 A& Y
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
* A# q X1 r. W2 @7 C( a2 }• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check / N" [8 s/ S- E3 G0 I
