Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:
4 r4 ^' P; k$ B& p4 j! l# v: S! DActivity Planning and Daily Activity
/ D  C) W: b3 C/ y# Y  [•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
6 v$ a! ?! P4 r•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
! P  i' ~; o% C3 w•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

' M9 `) Q7 s+ o% i•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
! k2 |; {$ I  p•        Experience with children
. G' P+ X* e& s% i1 z" q0 s3 s  e•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
# N& t- d$ A# u$ o•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
4 v$ G/ |' v; @# m/ B* V4 q•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
  `8 ]/ G. `# J1 u% N•        Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        Documentation of a  clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
