Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

Activity Planning and Daily Activity
* f8 F% S0 S' c: k: T• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
7 O$ t' B, m( P, d J; v• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
$ L$ W, X2 S+ q0 B3 Y. ~• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
1 Z# O- Y8 b( B• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
$ y+ ? r' R5 {' k s; k5 s" [• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.% X! d" c( y/ g6 Z7 y( A" x: {
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

* M, K/ E+ { H6 l' Z7 tThe successful candidate will have:
3 W* @" e! f. V• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting7 d5 \7 B; S6 m9 g
• Experience with children5 u9 Z' U( i9 B5 I4 r" E1 a5 X* q
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
4 {% R. H6 H8 m a• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
- `3 U) y9 f1 h! ?0 X• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check 3 ~* @5 C2 K2 W: |, X
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
