Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. 7 [& q0 b4 k, l

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students & \& C0 H5 p9 d! G$ @$ j) I1 z U+ F
(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)) ?* K; S) v7 {: i
+ Z" _5 O$ z5 c. O/ `+ _" t% ^Key Responsibilities Include B- _1 W. q" x& t2 }& q$ O
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
. ^5 W" O: G2 t9 p" J( I• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.5 i \! F$ F; e. e% c
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
6 `# y+ E9 Z1 m4 d% h• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, $ R# x2 Z* d* `% _- V. U% `, @! \
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants./ T/ c5 t$ R: N/ t+ a- d! s
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
: _2 A# p/ N+ _6 _; E Y• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.2 [. ^' O4 N% j' R- F

The successful candidate will have:9 A" `8 G0 y) m$ v9 h$ v X
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
- O# n& _8 B+ h* _• Experience with children6 |- [8 x/ c ~
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth . V' |' R, W! b" x. P
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.- Q0 ?* [0 K' s
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.6 c5 ~5 X) ]; R8 V& r. a2 r0 s
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
