動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.

The boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.! h3 K/ l0 ?; c, o

) d$ s  N1 ^/ E& \- ~9 i) }The Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '
) t/ y1 g7 H# O9 Q: W$ l5 J收銀員說:『抱歉!你買這娃娃的錢不夠。』* F6 M1 R# _$ g. a5 q" P
% ~: V' U2 P" X: V& e1 K" f
Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,
- ?- ~/ b6 d; w4 D8 I2 y- n8 Eare you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '

The old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '
" h2 [; |( }8 h1 l- _- j1 y8 W: L老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」
; p- Y0 n0 c( R$ @  J % T8 C* }. d  t) d3 J

8 B$ b  f& R( I. {  {* w# r. gThen she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

- @% ~3 y' W# ?( W+ C! s'It ' s the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas.

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

9 S$ e* Q$ M4 \$ t2 d: OBut he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '

His eyes were so sad while saying this. ' My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister. ' '* c; V: t# W5 _1 w, C2 F* U- N

My heart nearly stopped.

Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '

6 ^' S6 e) p$ J, N/ XThen he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.
# K' ?8 F3 |5 v' X/ M『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。

  O* V1 T/ o3 ?" ]8 |1 TThe little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '% |+ I. R6 k0 G; y$ Y/ R
小男孩說:『謝謝上帝給了我足 的錢!』

4 r% |! d4 F" {# A! ]Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '# \" H/ K2 U* Q, u

'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn ' t dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose. ' '  j: W! v0 F' K0 X  q% R+ L

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.

I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

2 u5 f! p! d" m: R0 d" B) zI couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.

/ V) I. F% {) o% ^+ QThen I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young/ v( F2 i- m* Q$ X
woman and a little girl.
3 l. F+ r5 z8 |- G  V) U我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。
! G! \: C* a/ d! z1 E ) [  s* Q% q8 g' B0 s5 `, K( D
The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical1 b$ h- Y* S1 f, S
state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the  X1 r; p" p6 U5 i% P5 C5 `
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.0 y( f8 m- x+ S; w! f, d! F
小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管/ \1 s& H3 [( M$ p3 C+ {' u; @* j" d- U

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.+ i+ {8 n0 N& x# g- `- C

I couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.# P' t( P* R7 w2 A" d: c
我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。- Y5 J% P" M8 x4 u+ A8 b+ S
% Y" v0 C6 o1 U* T" d
She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.6 t& P. I9 T  |, R4 G

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is
5 a- x, n, f# q$ P6 estill, to this day, hard to imagine.  O$ I. N" D- n' S; X

And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.

对自己负责。对别人负责,对社会负责,请勿酒后驾车。因为这个小男孩有可能成为你家的孩子。
