FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ' B- ^! ]' J7 r: `' V; ?5 d
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
# m- i' u4 F2 Dsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
/ Z) Q( v, p; Q' j# Femerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 1 Z% G5 y1 X7 w) b7 u& t
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a * P- }0 Z7 Y P0 W1 L9 i* f" z g
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 5 B1 f& h1 U: F g
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern / {/ ]. O; n2 P1 m6 O0 t# [

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 4 b/ h# w9 ^* H. }; ~+ l
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
$ O3 }3 o6 y/ awell as the script, magazine and book library. ) R- K; I+ J- {$ p
9 m; g, ?$ [/ L; H2 j0 s! @8 MDuties:
! }, k: t& Z7 x+ d& ^1 I- i8 }6 Z- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
# q) b5 E9 \6 i1 Q' N" g) e7 M! C- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
/ i" b% `8 b0 x# ~ h. A0 D& l- Implement a catalogue template for future use
* E# f: }7 p: P6 J/ G' ]. x) P% J- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ! x+ ]1 J+ V% S4 y" n
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organizational skills ( m( o1 K4 @" S
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
