FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the / F) _% u# _9 _, U* @8 a
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
( A$ ?& Y6 u0 T0 \5 }+ Bsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern $ O) _5 s" p( O' n
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
' Y( q( Y9 m* S3 hemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video , Q- l" N# }7 S e2 Z
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a & C1 n4 m0 J' w
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
9 r, b$ d! E4 W+ E; L3 r5 _screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as ) F0 G! x- `' J" L1 |
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
* ^7 N( K# v3 V- R8 o9 `- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books $ Y" n5 p- Z0 |% M% o0 Q2 r
- Implement a catalogue template for future use , |' l: ~- l% r6 H
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 0 i& a# X! n4 g6 `4 {0 r
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

* W$ a c- q- y7 l0 x) Xsecondary training, university preferred + o" U& f9 S# K6 ]$ l
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: + e# E' p0 M# W0 K3 H
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
! i# J4 z4 G6 ~: i- Strong organizational skills
( `& v/ ^% l- f- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
; t0 R8 V8 Q" M( l% ]- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 3 s* m+ J! F5 I! @; a
- Strong team player abilities 8 ^. j5 x: i! } f; _% x
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors " C @4 m" J# l
