FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 6 v: G. x( i' K$ t: V
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
5 Y0 n9 l$ l+ w9 Y* N' ~8 Q" Usupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ' O: l1 Y! r' G# Q+ J" g
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
; |# u* ~6 f# g1 L5 G0 H/ w' hand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 7 N: T7 f8 p8 b! Z8 p
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ! W; A6 x# l* R- `2 }% j: t
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

3 g8 u& q8 L+ W" r3 j- Z& S. jJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
5 @1 G4 y' s: l$ X$ S' mFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
( J6 x+ q. A9 u$ e% `well as the script, magazine and book library.

" x/ q) C3 v$ e, V1 c" t- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library & R% R+ g; g( E& {: Y
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
& a* E) u+ X% T- Implement a catalogue template for future use 2 C. f) L5 t1 b1 _# m& P6 G
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure # A* e9 L0 _' ~2 L8 @
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
( {& f# k6 F$ [( @2 @- }$ f( G1 _* ?- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
; L* X: h- h# t2 u, F- Strong organizational skills
( Z+ T6 {( F& J! o. P7 m- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
/ r) m& M2 M% P% }, y- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal + x# _- F* R$ a4 c$ ^! l7 s
- Strong team player abilities
