* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
1 a! V9 y# ]) M1 c9 x4 }( E * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
. Z1 Y/ ]$ a# r# i5 ` * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance7 |4 ^% X- B; |# q) ?
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 8 }7 G6 }, H6 N1 @9 t) c0 L% X
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies! n' G" W# ^7 W8 l h
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
/ ?4 V" S' B/ g' i1 r- }9 c * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment J7 O, K1 m: m" i% g
