Duties

( d/ P9 u( [4 h/ L M' d7 x1 l7 q5 e * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications9 Q4 m/ ]$ w' a' {
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
X0 m7 l( M+ X& N * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
6 n3 d/ `" }, v H9 l0 z5 I+ j * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
7 M+ @# p! ]3 ]6 j* a' z$ R( S * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies, p6 n1 e& f2 s6 y
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
