A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.$ ^2 B9 t2 }$ X ^- I: s" A
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and
) {5 {7 C6 w2 D4 Q1 Gknowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
9 o+ m* a4 `+ p: U! ^5 s/ `• Standard Child Care First Aid
0 Y" J) C- |5 }, i. g; I" m• WHMIS
& L) `# O$ \) a( N/ K; g: c• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care+ K; {) s- N8 g7 n/ q, x- o: e
• Components to improve communication skills% S5 ^) v2 X! Q" @- z5 o
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search
1 k7 D* L2 U& s& C( y* U• Practicum Placements1 y" ?# ?6 I! A( F+ e! G, p
Eligibility Criteria% w" `4 G" c2 `7 L+ d/ H
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
1 q2 |4 I3 \* }: kof Canada/ m! r0 U0 l& R8 m$ U: M4 R( C0 e- i7 N
• have a Social Insurance Number' O1 H! o2 c8 c* s: ]2 q
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check' w7 F( _( Z& j g3 E* z
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
' j) u/ \$ s' Z6 N/ ?6 C• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time4 E0 a! h7 B& z& e( Z
program* T7 x' ~" a! w) I
Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
* J2 H/ L% a" Pthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
1 A* v* A% G8 |• be unemployed or underemployed.

• meet the financial eligibility criteria0 E: t/ g" c% k7 |4 Y: n
