A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
$ F& G7 w$ q0 `# T- o• Standard Child Care First Aid [ \! m; f1 l5 P' h( [. v1 h
• WHMIS
4 G( n4 l4 V% @7 L• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
* v% S! @7 W$ g, h9 m: {+ L• Components to improve communication skills2 e) o' p' L" G! t; X
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search- ?4 P% D5 J7 T7 e0 Y/ z
• Practicum Placements

• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen

• have a Social Insurance Number
( o* P; Q; e8 b; ~! A• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
& A _6 i" A/ e: \8 F• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent

program
- N; D# k# |" | q nParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
2 \0 n, B7 f1 E! k! Mthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
0 U6 g3 A# u6 g$ u" e• be unemployed or underemployed.
5 o+ K* C6 D* C7 e% cThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course; z1 V8 o: R6 J/ t8 r% B
• meet the financial eligibility criteria; R$ S" u5 k$ k/ u1 b
