Actually it is a good question, and I asked the same question too.
IBEW424 initiated this issue last year and right now things are out of their control.
It is understandable that the union question the government about the qualification of some journeymen, we all know what happened at that time.

But think about what the union live with: the member's premium.
We pay whenever we work or not. They can not afford to loss that.

The union President gave out the positive comments on our society, we do have some problem, but we also have a lot of people and some really good electricians too.They can not take their words back.
