3 D2 r9 ?1 l& y2 lPosition Abstract: as Manager of Volunteer Development, you are committed to seeing that the mission/vision are actively pursued within the Volunteer program as it facilitates a variety of opportunities for groups/individuals to participate in The Mustard Seed's ministry.

( |1 O7 `& ?8 JThe Manager of Volunteer Development reports to the Director of Development & is responsible for the development/oversight of all volunteer recruitment, training, placement & equipping of staff for volunteer supervision/mentorship. 4 r( E0 {% q2 D

The ideal candidate will have: had personal encounters with people living in poverty/demonstrates an ability to understand issues of the inner city. S/he is passionate about volunteers participating in ministry to the poor and can communicate with a diverse range of partners. Knowledge of volunteer recruitment and management is necessary and understanding non-profit management is desirable. : U! s3 K3 m1 R( J0 B

In Addition: the candidate has the ability to create and lead the development of the vision for The Mustard Seed within his or her sphere of responsibilities. 3 ^ X7 T. ~* x% G I% Y. l" @
' B3 {* v& v+ r) o, B( E0 F3 F! wYou will have strong communication skills/the ability to lead and build leaders and will possess a 'teachable spirit'. A capacity for creative problem solving, conflict resolution and equipping people are essential attributes. Basic computer skills required. The candidate must have the capacity to represent The Mustard Seed publicly. 9 G- D5 i' }% ^) M
+ U/ _; Z$ f2 H) g. d0 [- WKey Qualifications: a Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent; proven track record in volunteer management; experience training volunteers and/or staff; a member, in good standing, of a local community of faith; willing to submit to and ability to pass an Enhanced Security clearance by Correctional Services Canada and an Employment Security Check.- N1 D+ [: G! q+ V
