Duties

4 T' {( j) L/ L+ J; V# q8 d% V' D    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program9 D* F$ ]( {/ U/ x2 Z
    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
+ d  d2 q: f8 }( F    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
& }1 i4 a% U- {  @    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
  m. P0 E. a# D- A& ]% Z" B    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders$ n4 J2 Z+ j4 K6 |- X. g1 n
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
+ Y  u! m2 i& n" c    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
( T# n' ~" h( b3 b, a" n* P    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
% z6 v  |( D* _5 `    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
8 \0 d6 }( p- h/ W    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials0 o7 p' l" s; h7 `# f) b) m
    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
7 [  x3 J; U6 l7 `8 n    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
7 O" P; t, w( D8 w    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications* k4 l" ~: x- Q! p* R

& }8 S! H; p- I    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred9 N! f/ n  m: Q. o7 s) [$ q
    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth8 h, T7 ^/ H2 x( v, u" h" S
    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset( `2 j  ]7 b+ P2 N1 o0 B
    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
8 u3 F, ?0 c0 o: C0 c    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills7 Y& Q8 U, B& N& P9 K  l" v( s
    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning3 u- \$ y5 E" l. W9 P1 P; ]0 h
    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
