* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region% ~7 S2 ?) u* X+ a# ?0 s
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group) C8 c, \* C- X
* Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators5 Y3 {3 c/ v. [/ F# \8 f k
* Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations9 j, z* m2 X1 F+ n
* Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director9 ?; {% ^' p3 N- u
* Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses5 U1 B) K9 C# C& Y+ N: }6 z; B( C
* Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth; G! o& i. r2 a& b
* Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program" t7 u. a1 U, Z+ F% Z+ O
* Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment" O; X. Q- r& a# Y( p9 C

* Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs

* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
- |( W: H2 m, X * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
) w+ [; Z! X, i4 f6 _; n6 z7 S * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies

* Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community, r5 w/ Z# {: G0 B8 A+ X: ~
