* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
. c0 y* x/ C9 c5 G N5 @ * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
; \. C7 N) P+ `7 C7 y- u * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
8 a6 `9 c. ~# r4 G$ `7 c: V * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
3 S" A, G) ]; m' p& {+ J * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director0 v; q1 ^* u. x% g" H e- a& w
* Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses/ R- H" O' g1 S" \
* Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
( T% N! Y7 }0 N1 _7 _2 V& f * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program' q9 b3 ^1 x+ w" r
* Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment6 i. ]7 _" p/ q! S) [& t% J# N
* Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports$ g! O2 W9 U2 ~8 y Y {
* Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
* Z; O+ d4 G4 I( W' K1 i * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
9 }( u9 ]+ n: B R. v1 t& l3 f' G) I * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
7 y4 M3 {# i7 j1 n, q( s8 d * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
- E# k3 z/ O& c: T) i * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies! M& u$ t- W7 s
* Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
+ m# {7 l6 }6 M4 A" T * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community' B! x9 \! Q) f- y- C
* Fundraising skills an asset2 Q. O- y8 c! F! b- L, J. m I/ P5 ^9 I
