* M: {3 E& Z n, J4 c( r5 X( `/ x * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region n, S% O* h# g
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
% g, U0 j8 t; U" n * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators* v) r( l( M0 _$ Q: [4 y
* Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations" K3 ]) S2 ~: x C8 c
* Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director( p! R5 O* N' _" U9 `6 J* f
* Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses' s: x" T( W4 r
* Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth; p% |$ w* M6 V
* Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program! P2 O& d5 Q9 g# [5 h
* Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment0 M: O/ d8 N9 Q- c1 C
* Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports

* Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
b* t; Q- D6 e. m, F; n) ] * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

% \9 b( h$ d( V! HQualifications
9 S1 t* @+ y z3 h: K
0 p) a5 \, h3 n ], c7 ~) L7 X * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline# ?* e; n& C. q' O% F! O+ i
* Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth$ z, ?. }. Y" y% }4 F+ H; }
* Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
2 F+ B& k* q2 J8 ?* ^( G( j * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs# _, D" q$ I& p# o8 w" \
* Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

3 p6 C# m7 G0 P * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
