* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis+ `- k8 S; M$ M) y$ {, @7 B2 s: W
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
2 A1 a1 W: c; G; `3 l5 R2 U * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
% }+ T$ u# n4 X" e, V6 |: {8 g * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client

* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals

* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices8 J$ I, q* M: k/ N* S3 s
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

* Y3 }' H- c; z
1 [0 s9 S# e s2 }7 Z/ y5 } * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred2 A" n) a% i Y' W$ k ~+ I8 j; u
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)& z; }. M1 w0 p
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel# h9 ~# [" C; T- L5 [5 x% p5 E! I7 H
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures6 r9 g# q% m" A
* Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment, a, y5 v0 C7 ]% } ]* d; n
