* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis, w# ?. a3 s2 z1 ]3 e3 g8 c) H
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
# a) W* [! p- O4 p* C: o/ P * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques& Z# a* ]- h& D; l3 @) {, n2 n
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
: o0 @% F5 `( l! S7 v. t5 r * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry1 y. v, s( a& y3 m) N
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
. o) k; Q' A1 C3 K: W8 \( a6 d * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab& Z- g" }% C9 f9 G9 h) J
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices0 ?( M8 g- J; j5 N- T& } a2 t
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS). T4 s6 j$ H6 f4 w: F

8 I& j+ v+ ]. {+ v7 F$ M * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred# ?, Z0 P" x9 k: D: T
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
' g( X0 Y* q- ] A * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel8 R) _8 v' g1 V) \1 S8 w
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures6 A: {; @2 X5 O! B( [- H
