Responsible for activities related to design, space planning, layout, and

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (in order of importance. Other duties may

1. Consults with Sales Team in the layout, design and space planning of2 B: Q2 M1 E' f# x
furniture specifications for client offices. Travels to client’s location to

2. Performs programming, space planning, furniture selection, layout, casework,
& c6 U+ {: O0 r( u, e$ \product pricing, design and selection of fabrics and finishes, includes as-built
4 H8 C, M) D' d1 y$ h: ddrawings, block plans, space plans and finished working drawings for# ]- I5 ]- q8 v* y0 T" t: R
specification and installation.& Q/ v) H- y4 C3 L- |" }
3. Provides professional customer interface by attending client planning
5 {1 f7 o; @, P5 x! Wmeetings to determine furniture needs and develops solutions to meet these$ X2 V. [$ b* V
needs.
, Q, N# I1 y6 e4. Offers technical design and creative consultation to customers by answering
; s5 \- `$ r1 A* }- z9 froutine and highly specialized questions regarding furniture systems.
2 ]* f9 o5 B' T5 N U5. Coordinates, develops, and reviews proposed project designs and construction
$ r% v- D0 C% v9 D, L0 Cplans. Prepares presentation material including color finish boards. Reviews job
0 R$ a5 {, @! ~, N7 ?! Lsite in order to perform accurate measurements. Will do plan-to-site adherence0 {) o, J5 @! p" J" N! l
checks.
' p5 t, W# Q% c$ r8 V1 w6. Validates plans against construction, electrical engineering and Architect
% z* }! i2 {/ B4 A& Design (A&D) drawing sets.3 x( c$ c" C) @5 Y
7. Develops project specifications, double checks specifications against plans,- _& r3 h' _ I7 z
assures specifications are ready for order entry (SIF file), and manages changes

8. Verifies the company design standards have been met. Provides on-site job2 t( z6 }9 e6 g* N0 P4 f
inspections comparing construction drawings to final build-out.% B6 H: A6 s( J$ H& L# o
9. Tracks, records and ties design hours to specific projects for job costing.
% y+ _, v3 ^! {* b10. Works with installers to ensure installation meets customer specifications.+ w3 a G- h' q7 S/ w! U: B, G
11. Participates in work-in-progress (WIP) and open order backlog review

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design with a minimum of two (2) years in a
+ W$ l/ [4 T5 {+ qrelated field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and) A" G2 ?4 M( _6 E4 z
experience required. Prior experience in office furniture industry, general
# z& r" a0 z* }1 Y; ?- L- O. x- _knowledge of systems furniture, and experience in customer interaction required.
