You are required to know and demonstrate:

The road test will run the full time unless the Examiner feels that your safety, or the safety of others, is at risk.# E7 T, @% H+ _+ ~
For example, if you do not show good judgment of time and distance when turning left in front of oncoming traffic,

; X J0 o9 w- G- W6 Iand Driver Examination Regulation. They are monitored to ensure they provide high quality road

What do I bring for my road test?! Q% n$ q; R; y+ g4 D* d

· You must have your Learner’s licence. If you have a temporary licence (non-photo)
( R* [) c0 H6 \& I4 L; y0 [then you must also provide acceptable photo ID.* i* D6 z. C' A: U& V7 a m
· Wear clothing that is practical for driving and comfort. It should be appropriate for the+ S8 ^2 o* {8 W! d* ~. t
weather conditions (in case your vehicle breaks down and you have to wait or walk).! _' I$ b! E* ]% ]% M
· Your vehicle must meet all legal requirements (good mechanical condition, valid5 p7 x0 d/ C* d3 R& r3 M
insurance and registration) and have enough fuel for at least one hour of driving.
! Q* S. O5 ^3 L· Payment for the test must be made directly to the Examiner or Registry office.

A Driver Examination Checklist will be completed by the Examiner. This document will contain the following

The Examiner will do a vehicle check with you. You will be in the driver’s seat and the examiner will ask you to) o, {3 a* M0 b, O U+ k
assist in checking the signal and brake lights, horn, brakes, and steering. You will be asked to describe and- }) i' _- T7 h9 C
demonstrate two of the instruments or controls inside the vehicle, such as the hazard lights and windshield! @& E3 P7 k' o/ j
wipers. The Examiner will provide information before you move the vehicle about the route and the instructions
$ g+ h/ X! w0 m) U/ T/ Jthat you will be given during the test.6 Q! R: N% P' U) g

· Points will be assigned for errors. You will be allowed a maximum of 75 points to pass the road test.; h# g6 j) o* }; S! U: z
You must not do anything that is considered unlawful, dangerous, or unsafe, (for example, speeding or not L2 z9 |2 R9 D% L# g
stopping at a stop sign).
* O& }; V6 x. N T# ?· The Examiner will not try to trick you.
) ~1 C6 R) S7 }) @- D· The Examiner will not ask you to do anything illegal.
$ I8 \% [; v$ i· When the road test is finished, the Examiner will highlight the areas you performed well, as well as

2 Z7 @5 }+ C0 ^The Examiner will give you a copy of the Driver Examination Checklist form. You will also be given a copy of the6 [" @ @& e- g4 R$ u) V
Test Permit. This will indicate that you have passed. Take this permit, along with your learner’s licence, to any
" }- w2 v s) q8 b/ V) E# bAlberta Registry Agent to have your licence changed to a Class 5 Probationary Licence. There will be a fee for this
! x& M! F9 P$ P8 H5 N% ]0 mservice.7 h8 G, n4 M( A

not passed. Keep the form and bring it to your next road test. You may not take another road test on the same day.
