· The Examiner will introduce him/herself and provide proof of identification, when requested.
. Y$ P0 s& b0 F ?/ J9 C. {, c· All Driver Examiners are licensed by Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation under the Driver Training
4 B' c. u% w7 F, t; c6 gand Driver Examination Regulation. They are monitored to ensure they provide high quality road, @0 C3 A# k5 X9 A/ ], K6 m
tests. They should be courteous and professional, keeping conversation at all times relevant to the' _# _4 F, I( b( i+ _7 I

What do I bring for my road test?# [: Z9 W7 W" h6 L$ p5 A
6 P8 F' a! w h· You must have your Learner’s licence. If you have a temporary licence (non-photo)7 F1 A) g6 {) Z2 L: q& t
then you must also provide acceptable photo ID.
4 L& [3 ?: b- [· Wear clothing that is practical for driving and comfort. It should be appropriate for the" V: d5 b) S' b" ]2 E& L
weather conditions (in case your vehicle breaks down and you have to wait or walk).' L5 f, O! [ E% {7 e# B( d
· Your vehicle must meet all legal requirements (good mechanical condition, valid9 D: W1 s$ Q+ ^7 O, t0 i( \* U3 W
insurance and registration) and have enough fuel for at least one hour of driving.

A receipt will be provided when requested.

The Examiner will do a vehicle check with you. You will be in the driver’s seat and the examiner will ask you to
( b; Y9 v: T+ @assist in checking the signal and brake lights, horn, brakes, and steering. You will be asked to describe and3 a& J/ P* E) a
demonstrate two of the instruments or controls inside the vehicle, such as the hazard lights and windshield! k' b9 O% e7 }2 v
wipers. The Examiner will provide information before you move the vehicle about the route and the instructions4 X) {2 {; v* j9 H ?
that you will be given during the test.

While Driving …

+ E5 Y* Q" }- g- M1 C& ?· You will be given ample instruction in advance for each manoeuvre and activity.1 g- D2 ~3 H6 F" u3 o B
· Points will be assigned for errors. You will be allowed a maximum of 75 points to pass the road test.8 I- R4 ?7 v. E0 F2 G: |* I
You must not do anything that is considered unlawful, dangerous, or unsafe, (for example, speeding or not. v: S; M8 G1 N
stopping at a stop sign).. J% L4 u8 ^7 d1 s! M& _9 k
· The Examiner will not try to trick you.8 ]- R5 \; c5 b7 n
· The Examiner will not ask you to do anything illegal.( P v" q, d( @4 k1 z
· When the road test is finished, the Examiner will highlight the areas you performed well, as well as; l, o( l' _: T- z, g, z; Y/ K: H
the areas you need to improve upon. The points for errors will be explained at this time.
