Qualified candidates should have a PhD or MS degree within 5 years or will
& R: `) q" e$ x9 l" o7 Gobtain one within 2-3 months, in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or a* i( U3 ?2 ]2 |; P- r8 h
related field. Extensive experience in protein expression and purification
+ I9 t" l5 R, W0 g& xfrom bacterial or eukaryotic sources, and/or in mammalian cell culture, is% ?$ F+ i$ q; r: _! N- J
required. Familiarity with recombinant DNA techniques, including PCR, DNA
; e7 C3 [0 P6 ^) |, vcloning and mutagenesis is also required. Prior experience in protein v7 n: k. Y! X
over-expression in insect cells/yeast, or large-scale protein purification
: x5 \4 E) U8 ]is a good plus. The position requires excellent organizational skills with2 [- c$ ?) m5 h; `/ E
the ability to work independently and multi-tasked along with keeping
& P" \8 y7 O3 D2 v( Zaccurate and complete research records. 9 l7 \4 w, Q! @* {, o6 J
' {& E* H4 z" kThis position is conditional to a successful application of external
% Y& ~ k& R. I4 ]7 Y. o4 `funding, such as the Alberta Ingenuity Fund R&D Associate. Anticipated0 l3 c: r. M/ Q0 \# J
salary for the successful candidate will be 55-60K/yr depending on+ o7 A- J8 |7 F" C+ @
