Job Description

•        reports directly to the Board of Directors. J9 C& n) E3 J7 J2 i. q. M2 ]8 c
•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals
8 p; y& ^" I2 R" f, U" T/ }; Y- ]•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board+ h5 Q0 w6 j" [# m0 n
•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation( P2 Q  K1 l- p5 u6 _* i

•        is accountable for effective administration of agency

•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff7 Q, Q7 \. ?! u* H* [% n
•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers- H5 X$ y6 ~: i. ~8 q  l
•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions
, L  u$ r; {' U& m# m•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators

•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff

Programs/Services) D9 _! }2 k% B: z. ?& A1 X5 B9 R
•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services. Y: E7 ?! m1 a' W5 I' f' z, }
•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities
2 {& E) |4 |5 j+ t: f. Z•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders# y3 W+ Y1 l6 P3 h9 E3 s
•        set program priorities and directions
0 e) q5 Q+ M4 |8 U+ M( I•        identify community and user needs and trends
( w! P" E# e+ r, B•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends
( D. [" q- i4 U2 Y•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research) }% m( A* G) n; e' Q
•        maintenance of appropriate reporting! a/ N/ @+ X( R' l3 p- q3 o% p- x
•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required/ ~( q- @" Y* N# D0 s1 v* B+ G: Q
•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development5 k- s( B! `% P- r# N# X2 G" W
•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others6 y( j, w* F2 J4 s5 @7 F- G

7 ~, x5 I7 z  }3 ^9 L; G2 MExternal Relations  F; {" d4 n, Y. |2 O" ^) q$ U- r
•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities1 l, y+ u5 ~3 }$ d2 d
•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders* p% Z6 J9 s$ X& m
•        communicate the value of the organization to the public/ x' i7 h" B8 d8 m9 v. _& R
•        identify community needs and trends* M& K5 a$ O, V6 ?7 b8 B  J, v6 g
•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups+ n* I7 j" h$ I' U& }; t" i: ^4 g
•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups
/ r; q' s  C& a2 K•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.
1 Z1 n0 B6 t: I7 f•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff% q8 @2 l' N4 Q+ U" k* A

9 z) X+ D- y5 p% {9 W7 vQualifications+ M  ]% k0 P$ A1 ^# E; W
-        University degree in a related field;
2 D% @; h! n6 ~-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;# o0 g. _; k  [% o9 L
-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; 1 _# L. v5 `/ ^- S' r! q5 g& b
-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization 1 [$ p% K* ?; B1 n; c" _

7 i5 I: M- [1 ^- o  F3 [/ H; [( K-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits " z- y' S! k+ e; ^( m
