Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities* K/ a8 F& h }$ B
- submit information for community news 4 _5 k h0 t$ x; \# I( m/ O
- provide volunteers to update membership database
8 S5 y% G% ?2 D: R% Q1 e: V- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers3 f; }' A; }( f9 Y$ u: u
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties- b7 M( _% x3 T7 A
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties5 V; v) J0 @3 S$ L
- provide volunteers for various programs 4 } S! [# l& l
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
8 y/ S. A. p- p- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation4 {8 s. a7 a) n8 c
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities& }5 [5 S2 @/ h
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services3 D |. L: ?7 v7 H- i8 h
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
" m3 H `8 `; l- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
% ], W7 C. U8 k: ^6 X- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed

- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events

7 [8 r+ c# b' [: j6 `. S- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
) R1 y+ @: S) R" i- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
; H9 L* d- W1 e+ M3 [1 v2 z i- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis / T& d7 V) O5 y$ r2 h& M4 D9 I1 y- B

Qualifications
% y1 y* j% N1 V1 I6 Z; l- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
; H% g: W9 _5 a# v- good oral and written Chinese and English skills" n2 u* C) x2 s3 M7 J8 x
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
- {/ m, z+ g7 v c) P; X- leadership skills
0 }7 d- v# G% U; Z, q9 ?7 J) K- management and supervision skills& n8 Y; W+ N: p! k6 p
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
