Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
% H4 L% p, S% {1 G2 _- submit information for community news
7 V6 g* O4 k4 V3 Z7 X9 [- provide volunteers to update membership database7 b& {5 R ?, f/ ~. O- C
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers2 w$ G% s4 w i" p+ Z; m' s
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
+ K/ l6 f: f( w* Z- d0 |- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties0 o% l. R# s! ?( g, ?8 M
- provide volunteers for various programs
6 l4 Z4 N# j2 P1 m4 b3 w- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual& }$ K+ ^! P" @2 y5 Z1 G9 J6 z6 j& F
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation2 J- A- v% I2 p; X% d, C2 ?. `# u
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
6 b( c- P1 t4 f- d- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services# ~6 ^: U- R `
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports8 c# z* `6 F8 ^5 S. B# n( X. ^
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed) z T# x: w, u( W b8 Q+ n
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed/ H {% y7 Q, A
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)) q5 N# Z3 I. {! x) h
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
( \# V* a& E& C2 [3 O- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
$ g; K% y/ X0 t5 X- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
2 e" O- b6 s" j1 A8 [' `- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers $ {: }3 ~% C3 c- c, o
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
/ K$ D4 C. ^/ x4 \' O- evaluations
6 I9 O# X9 R+ B- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

2 m* U2 O0 f8 EQualifications! R1 ~# b# O' @# N
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education3 g& C# P( R y, b; D( H* P
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills! G4 f3 q# d! k: C$ ?$ h
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services' O8 r/ x! f) Z4 F# R0 H; \4 ?
- leadership skills

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
