Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities0 d7 e+ a# g7 V* v, X. m9 T
- submit information for community news / G H' L1 }+ l5 F/ s* v6 B
- provide volunteers to update membership database$ }8 h$ i# Q' f" Z: G* K; e7 z
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
5 C9 |" g! U3 }2 ~# s$ j- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties) l" ~' l9 f" F
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties/ i; N; C( e1 R' A
- provide volunteers for various programs 2 x: e: x+ Z, i! Z- P9 w/ [
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
1 m+ A- h% p" P |- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation7 U- Z+ j# D0 W& ^; e: E E
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
/ b% p/ F/ q- M' U0 X- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services/ y! w' e1 z8 O# u
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports x3 O T" j' {9 V% e
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed- W9 p* I( f+ B& M- e" ]+ {3 z
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed' r# t* ~( _/ R1 w$ L
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)8 a5 W, j* A; E& w6 b9 I# {3 U0 ~
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events % Q5 G( k; r' [) ~% Q6 x
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 4 p, @( ]: j2 R0 a: V% v8 Z
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
: T% S1 H& T- t2 j- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 1 p( I* C5 L7 K4 p4 U, D
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis : G* ?8 m E' G9 F
- evaluations ! E" U. {) X3 o
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre* q: A; r$ a# @" g

7 u3 u1 D" R5 ~; b* g- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education$ @8 W1 @, F1 D. v7 U% Y& M+ H
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
4 [& ?6 V6 n' l) y- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services- W4 G* N5 m* n4 Q& L4 L
- leadership skills
- e6 i# H# c# g. u- r' F- management and supervision skills
