About background check

My case:
FN Sep.11 2006
7 z. v# U, i! a1 |: k- ^! m7 t# Q.....(nothing from then)
9 M4 b' f, ]. h9 }2 Y
I sent an email to CIC buffalo yesterday inquiring about my case and got the reply:

"We have requested background information from other government
: ?2 D6 a% v* J* Moffices(s).  Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing
7 p3 `4 n# L; W  c0 }of your application will be complete.  We cannot respond to requests for
3 Y. O) w6 @4 V, Bthe status of your application before this information is received."

Does this mean I am undergoing background check? Is it a normal BC and security background check(SBC)? Anybody has idea about how long it is gonna take? Thank you!

不用太担心，他们的回复都是同一格式，不代表一定在作背景调查。我也收到过这样的回复，后来request了一个CAIPS NOTES，发现是不知为什么我老婆得Medical Examinaion的结果他们一直没收到。现在我们就要landing了。你也可以request一个CAIPS NOTES，看看到底是怎么回事。

不一定就是背景调查，　也可能是查再加拿大有无犯罪记录什么的，不用担心。
