the logistical organization and smooth rental of the additional

- V' k5 @* c' S6 B, c9 |focuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty, ) w& T- N4 @+ r, v& t" S
students, and internal and external clients on an on-going basis.
9 G& ?; c9 C- aThis strategy will include implementing and/or delegating the following:# W K$ R; Q' G% V! D2 m
· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz
! I. |. G8 t$ {6 I7 iTheatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to + |9 c4 M0 J! f+ g3 [* l
take advantage of other internal and external advertising 9 r" ?2 L" f4 H+ G K R( M
opportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional * l, m' y/ n5 f B2 ]+ L) ]
literature on an ongoing basis.

- Y: K; v# F" W# c/ A; |a. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost-
/ v2 ^. N2 k9 b3 w% W9 k/ Peffectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the 9 r B9 s. \5 _! _/ z/ a
venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and 9 o( ^4 W# I3 i. K- o3 C
contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of
/ n! _$ Y+ R2 j% q0 jthe renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited

· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues . X+ Z6 u, g7 L# {
and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining,
/ s3 ?( B2 q6 g5 S) j& F+ Bevaluating and terminating, as necessary.

all times, this includes the development and implementation of such
; X$ E9 _, H; n1 Z; T: sschedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and
: A$ @$ d9 e5 X( \" v4 Rcost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it

· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure
& g2 a: `4 v6 S9 h) x/ ] Y& Ithat an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to
# L* Y9 E. U4 r! K i7 ]1 _5 xfacilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all

/ \; m5 V4 y$ I. S, V. M· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills
. e3 g& m4 K; W5 B7 O, m# X% |and attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of
/ p: U) q5 u& ]9 g$ L0 Sthe roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and
, T7 C9 ^4 D6 teffective training (and re-training) in all applicable and - ]" w4 i# L) _5 u
appropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual

· To work with the Technical Director to arrange staff

· Working with the Manager of Facilities and Operations to ensure

that additional requests such as licensed receptions are arranged.

4. Overall Financial Performance

systems and processes utilized by or within the venues meet the q/ o6 E2 H7 C% u8 Q/ V( }
appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and contribute in a ' v/ W2 ? R, L/ l2 Z$ u( j# ]
positive way to the smooth operation and success of the venues. This

operating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of

Manager of Programming and Venues, and Manager of Finance & 0 F, u1 Z( h/ C: t9 Z5 i
Administration prior to their submission for final approval.5 P7 x( d; ~8 Z! L+ E: S: G, _
· To manage the venues in a manner which adequately and effectively & Q( Z8 p/ G3 B1 E' W2 L7 Y1 M& f* g% d1 g
reflects the budgets approved for the venues and/or which reflects 6 }: X2 b5 P. h1 ?* n
the best interests of the venues and the Students´ Union.
7 S5 N1 i* o/ H8 u3 e· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and ; k* Q5 _" R5 V- O
administrative documentation covering the venues to be used in the ' k. }* U9 i! O0 ^6 F' P
compilation of monthly and annual financial statements, and such 7 L* P2 y/ e, t" G* [
other reports as may be necessary.

with all financial and administrative procedures, with the SU´s

aimed at improving the financial and/or functional effectiveness of / M( o& z9 i; a# ~

· To ensure the existence of adequate, effective and accurate job
; T9 V9 J+ @0 _+ ]9 ocosting systems to be used in connection with the determination and
' g9 h6 c, {+ o& ?# r7 \. Isetting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for ( `2 v, r: L6 Q* ]& C0 e; F
events held in the Horowitz Theatre.

2 n# \ G N. a+ C9 u$ Sthe billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely

and administrative procedures and systems in a manner which reflects

a. To ensure, at all times, that the systems and processes used in

· To recognize, develop and set in place such rental procedures as

in the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation, + m. X* D% Y5 ^4 A- r/ k, M8 P1 S1 A
pricing, costing, equipment usage, rental/contract invoicing, ) Y7 i: {& N( a1 C6 D
together with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary # N3 i e6 v0 k$ d$ o" v
to ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and 3 L% v, L7 D3 x. y/ ~9 t
functionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.1 k% v9 ~9 ~: a4 m# C( p
· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures

effective operation of the venues.
8 _ z3 v' q0 P: M( @· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to

· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and . J# T. y6 ? M7 G$ Q {
that such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.

- D; P+ C7 ~, V1 Y* l· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular 2 \1 D! C7 W2 V( r( J, v
rental with consultation with the Technical Director.
* Z: n3 ]8 f* X· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the
' n) p! i1 ^& M/ h: I% t; PSU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately
8 x/ \) ?7 d0 `4 Qanswered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in
4 T& ?6 P+ I9 |# A& B% Bfollow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.
, x. N' y: L4 a3 B0 ] To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately,
* [# y& I; ]' ?6 l* K7 }% I8 ]effectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that
" {( X s$ s: |* H0 D" q# j1 ?" lthe cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision

· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of

may provide such challenges and/or problems.
